Won-Hyo
As practiced at Kwak's Taekwondo/Karate
Won Hyo was the most renowned Buddhist monk of the SiIIa
Dynasty. He was recognized as a great scholar by the Dang Dynasty
of China, although he never studied there, and was highly
respected by the people of Korea. Won Hyo hated the idea of
different religions arguing with each other over their different
beliefs. Instead he established his own system of ideology in
which the conflicts between various religious sects could be
reconciled.
Won Hyo reached the highest position possible as a scholar and
monk. However, his most remarkable achievements were his
activities in relieving the poverty and suffering of ordinary
people.
After Won Hyo left his monastery, he traveled around the country
and taught Buddhism to the people. Sometimes he played a homemade
instrument, and used song and dance to communicate. As an example
to the people, he lived as he preached.

- Move the left foot to A forming a Right Back stance toward A while executing a twin forearm block.
- Execute a Right High inward knife-hand strike to A while bringing the left fist in front of the right shoulder, maintaining a Right Back stance toward A.
- Execute a Left Mid punch to A while forming a Left Fixed stance toward A. Perform 2 and 3 consecutively.
- Bring the left foot to the right foot and then move the right foot to B, forming a Left Back stance toward B while executing a twin forearm block.
- Execute a Left High inward knife-hand strike to B while bringing the right fist in front of the left shoulder, maintaining a Left Back stance toward B.
- Execute a Right Mid punch to B while forming a Right Fixed stance toward B. Perform 5 and 6 consecutively.
- Bring the right foot to the left foot while turing the face toward D. Lift the left foot and bring the right hand to the chamber position and cover it with the left fist.
- Execute a Left Mid side kick to D.
- Lower the left foot to D forming a Right Back stance toward D while executing a middle knife-hand guarding block to D. Perform 8 and 9 consecutively.
- Move the right foot to D forming a Left Back stance toward D while executing a middle knife-hand guarding block to D.
- Move the left foot to D forming a Right Back stance toward D while executing a middle knife-hand guarding block to D.
- Move the right foot to D forming a Right Front stance toward D while executing a Right Mid spear-finger thrust to D (ki hap).
- Move the left foot to F turning counter clockwise to form a Right Back stance toward F,while executing a twin forearm block to F.
- Execute a Right High inward knife-hand strike to F while bringing the left fist in front of the right shoulder, maintaining a Right Back stance toward F.
- Execute a Left Mid punch to F while forming a Left Fixed stance toward F. Perform 14 and 15 consecutively.
- Bring the left foot to the right foot and then move the right foot to E, forming a Left Back stance toward E while executing a twin forearm block to E.
- Execute a Left High inward knife-hand strike to E while bringing the right fist in front of the left shoulder, maintaining the Left Back stance toward E.
- Execute a Right Mid punch to E while forming a Right Fixed stance toward E. Perform 17 and 18 consecutively.
- Bring the right foot to the left foot and then move the left foot to C forming a Left Front stance toward C, and execute a circular block to CE with the Right Inner forearm.
- Execute a Right Mid front snap kick to C, keeping the position of the hands as they were in 19.
- Lower the right foot to C forming a Right Front stance toward C while executing a Left Mid punch to C.
- Execute a circular block to CF with the Left Inner forearm while maintaining a Right Front stance toward C. Perform 21 and 22 consecutively.
- Execute a Left Mid front snap kick to C, keeping the position of the hands as they were in 22.
- Lower the left foot to C forming a Left Front stance toward C while executing a Right Mid punch to C. Perform 23 and 24 consecutively.
- Turn the face toward C and lift the right foot, while bring the left fist to the chamber position and covering it with the right fist.
- Execute a Right Mid side kick to C.
- Place the right foot next to the left foot and then move the left foot to A, turning counter clockwise to form a Right Back stance toward A, while executing a middle forearm guarding block to A. Perform 26 and 27 consecutively.
- Bring the left foot to the right foot and then move the right foot to B forming a Left Back stance toward B, while executing a middle forearm guarding block to B (ki hap).
END: Bring the right foot back to a ready posture.
